I had to drive my car 20 mph to get to the dealership and even then it took a long time to stop.
Super Dangerous.................. if it would have happened on the interstate or or emergency stop it would have been a disaster.

Might do that but they are replacing the master and pump...... N/C and they have had it for 13 days now. Parts manager told me there is a shortage on these items....

I suggested that based more on the extreme difficulty of its remaining manual braking, not for the booster failure itself. While short panic stops become nearly impossible and large pedal forces become necessary, with sufficient caution it should still have enough manual braking for regular streets and highways to still be navigable. Just keep it to the absolute bare minimum driving necessary before (or to get to) repairs, go slow, and leave lots of extra space.

I would suggest that many people get it towed. I had almost zero brakes not matter how hard I pushed the pedal.
Almost like pressing on a big concrete block..... I know I sure wouldn't want this to happen to my girlfriend If she was driving it.

The case mentioned in post #1, Medeiros v. Toyota Motor Corp., No. 2:20-cv-683-RGK-MAA (C.D. Cal.), is one of several that has been consolidated as In re: Toyota Hybrid Brake Litigation, No. 4:20-cv-00127-ALM (E.D. Tex.), before Judge Mazzant, who also has the fourth-generation windshield case.

The court denied the defendants’ motion to dismiss on February 2, 2021. A motion for class certification has not yet been filed. From the dates in the last scheduling order, entered on November 10, 2020, it strikes me as unlikely that the case will go to trial before early 2023.

If they can delay until 2025, the 10 year coverage extension will have run out on all of them including the 2015s . . .

just like it did on my 2009 in the earlier round.

I occasionally remind people that with power assist failure, they must push the brake pedal with at least 112 pounds (or metric 500 Newtons) of force to get that federally mandated minimum performance. And more foot pressure is better. It won't produce the amount of braking effect you are accustomed to with properly working power assist, but it should be a useful level.

When it is as bad as you describe, even with 112 pounds of foot pressure, then file a NHTSA Safety Defect report. If some car makers are not meeting the federal requirements, NHTSA can force them to fix it.

    Got my car back today.
the brake pedal went almost to the floor.
As soon as I started it the pedal was normal. Went back to service adviser and he had hybrid guy come up and tell me that was normal.
I drove it 50 miles this afternoon and the brakes work better than they ever have even before the almost constant pump running.
    Now this car has had
    water pump
    inverter
    head gasket
    traction batteries
    3 firmware updates
    clogged erg circuit

I bet its closer to 200,456 miles. What is sad is the brake booster and head gasket fails are becoming epidemic. The Toyota mechanics I know agree its almost unprecedented in a Toyota design.

Even though I have two other toyotas that have 320,000 and 430,000 and nothing major done.
    1 starter
    1 radiator....
    Previa
    Camry

I was misled by my previous toyota experience.
Both vehicles never left me broke down.

Agree. My respect for Toyota took a big hit when the inverter stranded me. Which was before Toyota was covering the v even though they had a program for the standard gen3. I also had antennagate early when the satellite preamp failed while still under warranty and the dealers were ABSOLUTELY clueless because they had not seen it before. Honda is not all there anymore as well. The big boys left a huge opening for Tesla.
