I'm just curious if other 2012 Prius C owners can remove the headrests on their front driver and passenger seats? I can't -- it's not an option because their is no separate head rest -- the seats are one solid unit. Out of curiosity, I've been looking at images online but most are of the 2013 model -- and they have a separate, removable headrest -- so was this a 2012 to 2013 model change?
i have a 2013 C1 and the front seats are only a seat no removable headrest. the rear seats have all 3 headrests removable. the C2 and up have removable front headrests.
Yes - I do have a 2012 C1 -- I noticed, however, at the dealership that the newer 2013 C1's have removable headrests now. Thank you for clearing this up. I'm having trouble locating inexpensive seat covers that fit the tall, non-removable headrests. Any suggestions?
Do the Clazzios fit the the non-removable headrests seats in the C1? I'm concerned because the "headrest" is really pointy and tall.
Yes, they have two version for the prius C. ones with removable headrests and ones without removable headrests. You need to specify at time of order.
Reviving this issue. I bought a 2012 C1 last year. This seat makes my neck hurt - a lot! Can I replace the seats to have better headrests? Or do I have to buy a different car. Is this the only year they designed the seat like this?
I bought my 2012 C a month after they started selling them here, and my headrests are removable. I thought the seats were the same in all models. But maybe the 1 trim level was different. I had to add a lumbar support as the seat was uncomfortable on long drives. This might change the position of your neck forward enough to make a difference. It's an inexpensive part either way. Search on "mesh lumbar support" at Amazon If that doesn't help, you might find some of the seats with removable headrests at junk yards.
