Buzzer type sound when unlocking doors

    Just started making an otherworldly noise coming from drivers door area when unlocking with key fob or switch on door. I am not sure how to attach a small audio file I made with my iPhone. I am worried something is in the process of wearing out and I will be stuck, locked out. Its not a normal beep tone. I do not have an aftermarket alarm. Tried uploading but the file .m4a extension isn’t supported. Thanks in advance!

    probably the lock motor. put your ear to the lock as you open and close it

    The power lock actuators wear out. I understand they're very expensive at Toyota, but the no-name ones are much cheaper and work properly. Any neighborhood mechanic can do the repair, there's nothing special about these.

    I see what you mean about Toyota prices! Yikes. They want more than what I paid for the entire car

    there's a lot here on diy, and expensive at a dealer. but you should probably replace it at some point before it fails.
