I was cleaning the EGR off my Prius and during the disassembly, I seem to have lost one of the gasket. Unfortunately, it's the gasket that the dealer doesn't sell. It's the gasket that goes between the egr valve and the pipe housing. Here is a picture for reference. Does any one know the part # or other gasket that it could be replaced with? Thanks!
It’s a 3rd gen, and just for the record, what year? There was a rev to the valve part no IIRC. I’m thinking the “valve” part number comprises both sides of that bolted connection, and the bolts. The question that poses for me: IS there a gasket? I did this 3 years ago, but think I can remember... There is a gasket. Nutzaboutbolts video at 18:50 mark. He takes out a small gasket. That's what the dealer told me, that I may have to buy the whole EGR valve assembly for that gasket. It seem waste of money since all I need is the gasket. My prius is 2014
Unfortunately it's all one piece. I'm seeing used on ebay for $75. You can hit up @ozmatt to see if he can help you offset some of the cost. He was looking for a spare magnet inside the stator.
One thing bugging me: the gasket pretty much has to come off after the valve/cooler is off the car; is that your case? So it wouldn’t be dropped in the engine bay? Search some more?
I looked everywhere, even in the trash. I took the cooler apart to clean it a week ago. Due to work, didn't get to clean it until yesterday and when I was ready to put everything back together, I noticed that the gasket is missing.
I lost the same gasket and had to wait a couple days for the order to come in from Autozone, cost $4.49 and I even used the car without the gasket for those two days and no issues since it is so thin. That looks very similar to this part # 25634-37030. That is the one that goes on after the assembly between the pipe and the valve. See picture for reference. Is that the one you’re referring to? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-EGR-Valve-Gasket-2563437030-for-Lexus-Toyota-/114571741158
Take the gasket you do have (25634-37030) and see if the holes line up at the end that's missing a gasket. If they do, I suppose you could order another one of those gaskets and snip the tabs off to make it fit?

Toyota is calling the valve, comprising 2 aluminum pieces, 2 bolts and a gasket, a “part”. Which is frustrating. in a pinch you could even fab a gasket?
Unfortunately, I tried that and the gasket is too small. The diameter of the pipe opening is perfect but the holes for the bolt/nut don’t line up, they need to be spread out little more.
I agree, it’s frustrating. I have no idea how to fabricate the gasket. I just ordered a used egr valve. Will reuse the gasket from that to put mine back together. Before that I am thinking of going to local auto parts store with the old gasket and see if they can help me find one aftermarket one that may fit. I’ll post a solution here if there i find one in case someone has similar issues in the future.
To repeat Mendel, you can get gasket material and cut your own. Its old school and done all the time. Faster and does the job!
These gaskets are a thin springy metal. Maybe you could follow the same technique, but how you cut the material might be a little different.
Yeah that makes it very difficult to DIY, the OEM. A very thin and slightly compressible material “might” serve in its stead.
Here in Australia we would just cut one out of a disposable oven tray, and drive!.. lol ? ... the rotor i hack fixed is still working, still seeking a good spare for the shelf!
