My Partner is Getting a New Prius Prime XLE. As You Know It Comes With No Spare. We Currently have a 2007 and a 2010 Pri's. My Question Is will either of our doughnuts fit the new 2021 Prime? If Not Where can one be purchased? Thanks For Any Help. /
I got the spare for our 2019 Prime from a 2015 off of Craigslist . The one time I needed it, it fit and worked. Enjoy the new Prime.
Stick with Prius having a spare? Yeah I know... My fur goes up, hearing people gearing up for a shiny new purchase, and having to salvage necessities (debatably) from their older model.
Rav4 Prime is the only plug-in that comes with a spare I know. Is there any other PHEV or BEV that comes with a spare?
Hey NYPrius1, make a full size or donut size spare tire be part of your negotiation. Can't hurt, why not try .
I agree with trying to negotiate a new full size wheel and tire in the deal. My 2004, 2005, 2008, 2014 Prii all take the same rims. All take 185/65/R15 tires although the 2014 has 195s. You can get Prius rims from a big junkyard for $50 or less, or entire wheels from a more exclusive junkyard for $100 or so. You can get cheap tires from Walmart.com. Not as good as your real tires but enough to get you home and way better than a donut. You can find a cheap place to fit and balance the cheap tires on your cheap rim.
