I had an oil change at the dealer for my 2013 Prius v. They did not indicate doing anything else nor did they bug me to do something else (a first). But it seems to me my backup camera picture is significantly clearer and wider. Was there a software update or something they didn't mention? I'm happy, just curious.
Can you tell me where it is so I can do it myself? Certainly going through the car wash never did it.
Rear view camera lens housing is embedded in the downward/rearward-looking face of the bezel at the top of the license plate, to the left of the Toyota emblem as you face the rear of the car. I would say they both cleaned (clearer) and re-set it in the housing (widened view).
A GREAT shop will ONLY let the car leave in PROPER condition, NOT charging for the small but important stuff. Although I would have mentioned, 'we cleaned and tweaked your rear view camera back into spec'.
Don't get me started on the chances of finding a good Toyota (and couple other dealers) around here. It's not an uncommon topic - Toyota is good but the local dealers...
