Does anyone use Fuel Additives like Dyno-tab Octane Booster or similar on Gen 3 Prius? Have you noticed any significant improvement in fuel economy and throttle response or anything? My area has bad quality fuel. The RON would be about 75-82 only and the fuel is mostly contaminated.
His profile says: Location:Bangladesh He has a rather unique situation in which some fuel additive might be beneficial. I suggest a "multi-purpose" fuel system cleaner and not worry too much about the octane as long as the engine seems to run OK.
I have used a few cans of Liqui Moly Fuel Injector Cleaner and there has not been any improvement in FE, to be honest. I have come across the products from Dyno Tab (injector cleaner, fuel additive, octane booster) and wondering how beneficial those really are. I can't stress the quality of the fuel I get here though. Driving a diesel run car is probably better if you compare the contamination level of petrol and diesel, sadly.
So unfortunately the filter is part of the fuel pump. If you were really having trouble with physical contaminants you could re-engineer a solution with an fittings and an external high pressure fuel pump with regulator and a real in line filter But i digress. Also to answer the previous posters query I always run exceptionally high quality air and oil filters in any car I want to actually keep. What mileage is it getting now? I have an inkling that it may not be entirely related to fuel quality. Can you pick up Sunoco or BP race fuel where you are? Not to sound ridiculous but here they sell a variety of stuff in 5 gallon cans and you could pick up a non-leaded sensor safe high octane fuel, flush out your tank, clean up the Imports bits, and fire it up Pixel 3 ?
NO. We weren't talking about oil. An added fuel filter might be a good idea BUT you have to be careful about where and how you install one on an engine that has fuel injection.
The fuel economy is between 15-17 kmpl (about 35-40 US mpg) at an average speed of 12-15 kmph (about 7-10 mph) bumper to bumper and often dead traffic city drive. It is nearing 100K kilometers on the ODO though. I don't want to sound ridiculous but there is no option to choose RON grades anywhere. You just got to take what they sell. Some stations have the reputation to sell lesser contaminated fuel, not tested but based on people's opinion.
he might be able to order it online for pickup at a gas station, but otherwise there's no way you can get fuel delivered for an affordable amount of money through fedex/ups or his local postal service /
