Happy New Year! For the past couple of months, I have been using this Android Head Unit from Amazon that also supports wireless Apple CarPlay (via a USB dongle the seller provides). However, the last two months have been a bit nightmarish as I have gone through two of these head units already due to random quality control issues, or the seller "forgetting" to provide the necessary materials needed to get this head unit functional. I am now at a point where I am looking at alternative options and moving on from this head unit. Therefore, I wanted to ask if there other similar head units out there for the Gen3 Prius that support Apple CarPlay (wireless would be super ideal). It would be awesome if it is essentially an Android Head Unit as it does allow the ability to use downloaded apps such as Google Maps and Torque right from the head unit.
I ended up going with a company called seicane for my android head unit the only issue that I had with them was that my car had the jbl system so I found a stereo shop here where I live to get me the right harness. But from what I’m told if you don’t have the jbl system the harness they provide will be a plug and play lastly on the ad it says it has CarPlay well that it’s true it’s not wireless so what I did was order on eBay a CarPlay dongle and boom wireless CarPlay also one last thing I’ve had my unit only 6 months but from what I can see so far so good.
I used the new one they provided and replaced the old mic with the new one to keep it looking factory
