Hello, I am new here and recently got a Grill Shutter inoperative warning..I checked it and there is no debris stuck in it..I was wondering if this is covered with power terrain warranty?.I drive a 2016 prius.Thank you
No, powertrain is engine and transmission only. Take a hose and spray the shutters. Probably dirt lodged in the mechanism.
TSB (attached) was issued for debris in the shutters, but only for specific VIN ranges and only for 3 years/36,000 miles. Also it doesn't apply to the C, but does have a repair procedure worth looking at. Also, Weber Auto has a video detailing the shutter operation. It starts at 12:35.
April, nine months ago I got the “grill shutter in operative “warning and went to an Oregon Toyota dealer. They replaced the grill shutter mechanism and was covered under emissions warranty. Today just 8000 miles later I’m getting the error message again.
I’m having the same problem. Have brought it to the dealers a couple of times and they say they have fixed it but it keeps coming back on.
