After driving around and experiencing all the Gen 4 Prius has to offer, have to say this car is "cool" and drives as smooth as butter, kind of a unique attribute of this Prius. I was one of those "Prius haters" before, but now I'm a convert! : ) I went into this looking for something relatively inexpensive, easy to drive, MPG efficient, but still luxurious enough (i.e. soft touch surfaces, smooth ride quality, and decent tech). I looked at sports hatches, luxury hatches, SUV hybrids, used 5 series / A4 sedans, other EV plug ins, EVs etc. Personally, I'm still shocked I landed on the Prius. Somehow the Prius stands alone in my mind given its standard features, practicality, price point (w/ rebates), quirky-fun-unique looks, decent-ish resale, and MPG hybrid superiority. The other direct competitor hybrids just fell short on driving feel, materials used, and overall build quality...Toyota didn't stick with Prius formula by mistake is my take away... Just sharing some thoughts on the 2021/Gen 4 if others are on the fence in picking one up. Here are some updated pics of "Hanna", yup, named her
I've had mine since 2016 and it still drives like a new car. I'm 65 years old and this is the nicest car I've ever had. I have the Four with all the electronic goodies. I LOVE them all.
That's what I want to hear! Hoping to have Hanna for a long time. I recently put the Radar Cruise Control and Lane Assist to the test during a 1 hour stop and go on the freeway, I was impressed, they really have figured out this technology.
I'm 72 and I just purchased a 17 four touring with all the safety "stuff" and I'm loving it so far. It only had 22,500 miles. It was a corporate lease and I was sort of leery of that but so far it's running like a new one. The dealer bought it at auction and I can't quite figure out why it was taken to auction. I did buy it certified so at least I have a year warranty if there are any problems. Nicest I've ever owned to. Congrats on yours,
Nice car and write up! I think most of us arrived at the same conclusion. While some of us might rather have this or that car, this car is by far the most practical and realistic for our needs and delivers EXCELLENT MPG. I remember on my spreadsheets when I was guestimating my cost savings for this or that car, the prius came out way ahead with my guestimate of 55 MPG. Surprise, surprise I am averaging 58 MPG so better than expected (Would be better if I didn't have a lead foot at times).
