How do you read live MPG figures on a XLE?

    Is there a way to read the cars current MPG as you're driving that doesn't update in increments of 1 or 5 miles?

    Like one a gen 2 basically

    I just got a Prime XLE today and was curious if this is possible

    Use split display on the MID. It will not show the numeric data but will show you the bar in real-time from 0 to 100 mpg on the subscreen. Note this display is shown only when you are in HV mode. If the car is in EV mode, then it automatically switches to miles/kWh.

    Actually yes.

    It’s under “Trip Information”.

    Press Menu, then Info then Past Record.

    Either the Past Record or Trip Information screen will display. If Past Record is displayed, press Trip Information at the bottom left.

    This will show a screen similar to the Consumption Screen on the Gen 2. The instant FE gauge will be on the right.

    Oh, I totally forgot about the trip information. Yeah, that functionality is available. I did not even know that there was a live mpg display on that screen. Thank you.

    And as a representation of Prius carryover items, that Trip Information fuel consumption only works in HV mode.

    Oh, that means no miles/kWh display like on MID. That makes it almost useless for my daily commute. Yeah, maybe for a long trip mostly on HV mode...

    Correct. I like having that display on when on long trips in either my Prime or wife's Trim two.

    Yeah, long trips only (or whenever you run in HV mode).
