Those models already exist. Plugin Hybrids.
Manually charging the HV battery in a conventional hybrid would accomplish little to nothing useful.

Hi what i ment is to be able to direct manually charge up the hybrid battery and have more availability of chargers to buy. Chargers that could help depleted batteries recondition

I'm curious as to how a U0131 has led to the HV Battery.

perhaps some investigation into the true description of the DTC is needed.

Tis brings up a communication issue to the battery diagnostic. Battery values are readable still.
Iv read to believe U0131 (Loss of communication of power steering control unit) will not stop the car from starting. Maybe code is thrown by either a fault from the hybrid battery area or the abs.
Coming back to a battery SOC at 59%. (201v is low)
Tis can start an engine even with a low hybrid battery but this still will not start or become ready.
Also block #4 shows lowest in power.

Coming back to maybe trying to charge the hybrid battery because it cant charge its self while the engine does not start.

So a U0131 showing up on Techstream under the AC system and Combination Meter Groups leads to the HV Battery. Interesting. I don't think I've ever seen that before. Never worked on that model.

Does your version of Techstream allow for a Bus Check to verify the lines of communication to each ECU?

Are you using a Toyota Repair Manual troubleshooting guide?

It is really not possible to do any significant "reconditioning" on a used battery.
The gains made are almost never worth the time and expense.
THAT is why there are not more "chargers" available.

No offense intended here but I feel that you are not qualified to be making the assumptions that you are making.

The discussion started out with you saying that the 12 V battery was being depleted and you have not yet told us what you have done to find and fix THAT problem.
Moving on to suspecting other things before you fix THAT is not a wise thing to do.

Just a update on the tread.

The cars been with a hybrid specialist for over a week and they can't seem to find the issue also at the moment.

    Just an update.

Power steering control unit has been replaced.
Now no codes at all are showing on the diagnostics.
No warning lights showing on the dash.
    Not going into ready mode.
    12v battery is charged.
201v showing on hybrid battery / 33% state of charge.

Next test will be on the hybrid Junction block relays.. Then probably the hybrid battery.

The Start Button will be replaced soon also. Just to eliminate a faulty button.

But that doesn't also mean that the battery is "good".
A couple of simple voltmeter tests need to be done and a load test AND a good physical inspection of the battery cable connections.
It would be a real shame to change more parts on a wild guess only to later find that the battery is shot.

You need to have a written agreement with the shop that any parts replaced that do NOT FIX the problem will be on their dime and not yours. That is, you will not pay for work done that does not solve the problem.

Hi there isn't any wild guessing here. Everything has been done after testing at Hevra approved garage and mechanics.

Obviously battery has been tested. That's why it's good

There are tens.....maybe hundreds......or owners who post on here that they were told by a "reputable" shop that their 12 V battery tested "good", only to eventually find out that it was NOT.

Just sayin.......you can't always believe what you are told.
