So exciting times I've been fixing my credit over the past few months and I plan on buying a XLE very soon ho Planning to do a rather are down payment (10 thousand) currently. This will be the first new car I'd have ever bought so some general advice would be awesome too. I am curious what a really good deal on one after including all the current rebates would be. I am from PA and will be buying the car from out of state due to PA not being in a region that offers the rebate. Where is the best deal on a Prius Prime XLE thats close to Lancaster, PA? Anyone have any advice?
At least here in the Austin TX vicinity, Toyota dealerships pretty much only charge list for new Prii, last I heard at least, which admittedly was in 2017. Primes are special-ordered.
If you are willing to make a deal out of state, the greater NY region and NE region states will offer you the best rebates, currently $5,000 cashback. It may get extended, but the current offer ends 4/1. Just check what others are getting by reading a recent post in this thread. Prius Prime - official prices paid thread | PriusChat
New car production is reportedly slowed almost to a halt.......all over the world.....because of manufacturing cutbacks in electronic chip production due to COVID. As long as new cars aren't coming off the lines, prices will go up and UP. For good used cars too. I've seen estimates that this situation will be worse before it gets better and it will continue to be a sellers market into next year maybe.
Try Maryland - March rebate is also $5000, there's competition, and you're pretty close. I am getting my car shipped from Bill Kidd's in the north Baltimore suburbs. I also communicated with Sheehy Toyota in Laurel and Koons Toyota which has Westminster and Annapolis stores. It shouldn't be too hard to get a dealer discount around $2000, so the OTD price would be MSRP - $5000. Since you can visit in person, you might be able to do better.
Congrats on fixing your credit. I would look into Maryland. Koons(Westminster) and Heritage(Catonsville) had the best prices on the LE the past few months. I didn’t pay too much attention to the XLE but did notice that their prices were lower. I did consider the XLE at first but couldn’t justify the extra cost when there was no extra battery capacity or substantial upgrade. Good luck with the search
