What is the recommended maintenance for 45k mile prius 2017? And when do you need to change gear oil? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
You can download the (U.S.) maintenance schedule from this website: 2017 Toyota Prius Owners Manual and Warranty - Toyota Owners By gear oil. do you mean the "transmission" (what Toyota calls an eCVT)? If so, Toyota considers their eCVT fluid "lifetime" and therefore there is no official recommendation. but if you plan to keep your Prius a long time, many people do change the fluid once around 30 to 45k and then possibly every 60,000 miles after that.
Use Toyota ATF WS fluid for the transaxle. Four quarts or litres should suffice. Owners Manual has an emphatic caution against using anything else. It’s a simple drain and fill: there’s a drain bolt and a fill bolt. Proper level when filling is easily achieved: fill with the car level (likely raised too), till it starts to overflow. That’s optimum level. A funnel and hose arrangement from above is simple. Both bolts I believe are socket head cap screw, require 10 mm male hex “socket”. Torque for 4th gen is roughly 32 ft/lb IIRC. Recycle any left over fluid; Toyota recommends to only use fluid from freshly opened bottles. If I get a chance I can post relevant Repair Manual excerpt later.
So no need to replace the oil of the transmission as it is lifetime For the maintenance check points that should be done each 5k or 8k mile is there any manual for it? As I checked Toyota manual is not showing what exactly need to be checked each maintenance time, as I want to know for the regular maintenance what points need to be checked in each milage Thank you Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.

Did you check the "warranty and maintenance guide", the lowest one on the page that I gave you a link to? To me it pretty much spells it out.
