Just called dealer and chose 'technical question' in the phone-menu. What happens at 299,999km? Answer: goes to zero again. So I ask: goes to zero or gets stuck at 299? He didn't know. If it resets, I can live with it. Some cars from the early 2000's only have 5 (mechanical) digits... But if it gets stuck, I can't!!! Is there a solution? Yes, new meter which starts at zero. I didn't ask if they would replace it for free, but I think I know the answer... So is there a solution?
If it’s a 2009, like your stats show, maybe no problem; it was only some early years of gen 2 doing this?
Would be great if that were true. Got triggered by looking at a cheap (but safe) runabout for my daughter and found tons of Prii with 299,999km... Didn't pay attention to their manufacturing dates but will have a look if there are 2008/2009 among them. Edit: most seem 2004/2005/2006. Also found a 2004 with 315,000 so now I am confused But if there is little I can do about it anyway, I'll just *try* to use the second resetable meter to zero once I am at 300,000km and keep track of when I reset it. I keep track of it anyway, but the non-resetable one made sure I didn't forget one. Long ago with my motorcycle on holiday I was really happy that it used so little gas only to find a forgotten receipt a month later... (Went from a CB350 (350cc) to a CB750 (750cc) to an Pan European ST1100 (1100cc) and each one had a bigger gastank AND was more frugal!)
It's 2004-2006 that carries version 1 of the dashboard. The link you post shows 299999 on the pic if you look closely.
Damn, you have better eyesight than I do They must have extrapolated. When my odometer was off my bike (accident that wrecked my cowl) and I drove it without for a month, I later put a drill on it to get it to the correct mileage. Just topped it off, so that shouldn't be an issue.
