Hello! I am looking at purchasing a used 2016 Prius 4 to replace my 2013 that I sold. I have read about peoples preferences and about some of the changes but looking for particular insights on buying a use 4th gen. Are there any goofy things to look for that aren't on the 3rd gen? It has 66k miles on it and is a 1 owner. They said they'd take $13,500. Thanks in advance for your help.
The biggest thing you'll realise is how well it drives compared with the old one. I particularly like the RADAR Cruise Control - which may not be on all Gen 4s in USA - something to check. Some didn't have spare wheels either.
Well......I have a 2017 &1/2 (love it!)......I may be wrong, but it is my understanding that the 2016 lacked a "Serious" safety package, that came as standard midway through 2017.....
Yes, maybe - worth checking. All Aussie cars did, but I think may not have been on all the 2016 US cars. But was on some, maybe most.
My 2016 had the optional safety package, but it was missing several safety features: No blind spot warning No rear (or front) cross traffic warning No sensors for nearby obstacles. My 2020 AWD-e has all of these safety features as standard. JeffD
It’s actually the “3” trim package. I thought it was a 4 buts it’s not. Does $13,500 sound solid for a 2016 with 66k miles and one owner with all service history? The bells and whistles aren’t a make it or break thing for us so not too worried about that. Thanks for the input
Yes, but no spare tire . My "3" had a spare, but my 2020 AWD-e doesn't (I have my old spare stored behind the driver's seat. JeffD
That does sound like a good price. I shopped around a bit and settled on a 2016 3 touring for $15k 61k miles. $13,500 sounds like a great deal. I have owned older Prius and really love the new one I just bought.
