I''m replacing the inner and outer tie rods on my 06 and I can't seem to find the torque specs for the inner tie rod. Found a thread on here that listed the outer as 36ft.-lbs but can't find inner. If anyone knows I would greatly appreciate it.

Inner Tie Rod torque for a Gen2 Prius is:
61 ft pounds if you are not using the SST Tool
44 ft pound using the SST tool

I'm assuming the SST (special service tool) is the one with the clips so you can hook up a torque wrench directly (the 44lbs)
vs using the muffler clamp type adapter where the torque wrench hooks outside the diameter of the inner tie rod end.

I just did the inners on a 2005 prius.
What a pain to try and get the boots back on with the original clamps. In hind sight I should have just use screw type hose camps to hold the inner boots.

Hi Andy, What tool did you use to remove the inner tie rod? How easy or hard was it to loosen it?
