Glad I read this post. I never had a clue that it folded like that. Gotta go out and try it.

 

Say what??? There is a kleenex drawer in my car? Now, mind you...I have only had my car for 4 days now. I got a 2007 Prius. Boy I sure do love it! Let us know where exactly this secret drawer is please!!! :lol:

Actually, I never thought of it as a Kleenex drawer -- not sure it would hold any of the standard Kleenex boxes. It is the perfect size and shape for folded maps though.

Okay, I just went out to the garage, lifted out that nice Prius carpet piece, and actually did as suggested. Thanks! I've had my 2004 for 2 1/2 years and never knew that I could do that. Now I'll keep it that way. Makes it nice and spaceous.

Your photo shows the net across the back with the liftgate open. I can't find any place to hook mine at the top (there are 2 D rings at the bottom, one on each side but none above them). Did later models provide this capability?

 

The best part about the hidden cargo area and the folding floor, I can hide sweaty clothes and gear from the skate park and by folding the floor back down, my car doesn't smell like a men's locker room.

haha my boyfriend figured out that it will hold an entire carton of cigarettes. I guess we all find different purposes for the secret compartments.

I keep a little pack of kleenex on the upper tray in the center console.

There are two different types of cargo nets for the trunk - one straps over the floor, designed to hold things down (like groceries). The D rings for that one are already in the floor. The other sites across the door like you saw in the picture. When you buy that one, you're supposed to get two more D rings taht you have to mount yourself.

What I usually do when I want to keep the cover open but out of the way is simply fold the "rounded" edge back and tuck it between the silver "tonneau cover winder" (for lack of better description) and the back of the rear seat. Hides nicely and doesn't block the rear vision.

Hmmm... me neither. I usually keep a small emergency kit in there, but always keep a full-size Kleenex in the back seat, which is always moving around. I will investigate using this nifty drawer as a tissue tray instead!

As someone else mentioned, the four rings are standard in the U.S. (and I assume elsewhere). The cargo net is extra. The dealers have to make a profit somewhere, after all you're only giving them full MSRP on the vehicle. (If you got one for less don't tell me!)

I discovered that. Bought one online, figuring I'd just "put it in." First instructions: Purchase x-size drill bit. Tape on template, Drill holes. I, who have never used hubby's drill, did just that. Drilled those holes and snapped in the rings and they were too loose!! I went into semi-panic state, until I went back to directions which said to put them IN while the buttons behind the rings were open. Then shut them. That tightened everything right up and I now have a wonderful cargo net. If I can do it, anyone can do it!!
