Hello all, my first post. I have a 2010 Prius that came with 17" aluminum wheels. I've never really cared for them but my wife likes them. Anyway, I had a flat two days ago and the wheel has a split about 3/4 inch long at the lip of the wheel. I'm told it cant be repaired so I either need to find a matching wheel 17 x 7 or find four wheels of a different style like 15 or 16 inch wheels. Does anyone know what wheels will work for this car? I've got over 200,000 miles on this car so I'm not really interested in investing a bunch of money in it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Why not see what a local wrecking yard might have? Would be cheaper to replace one wheel than all four.
You can go to your local wheel dealer, they will advise you more carefully, and the price can be a lot cheaper for your Prius.
The Prius hatchback (not the Prius V wagon) has a lug pattern of 5 x 100 with a 54.1mm center bore. Toyota uses this pattern in most of its compact cars: Corolla, Matrix (also sold as a Pontiac Vibe), Celica, Scion compacts (tSc), etc. Toyota's sub-compact cars (Yaris, etc.) use a 4 lug pattern. (Obviously these will not fit your Prius.) Toyota's mid-sized vehicles have a 5 x 114.3: Prius V wagon, Camry, Rav4, Sienna, Avalon, etc. (These will not fit your Prius) There are many other makes (Mazda, Honda, Subaru, to name a few) that also use the 5 x 100 lug pattern on some of their vehicles, but their center bore may be a different size, so they may not fit. If the center bore is smaller than 54.1mm, then it obviously won't fit on the Prius. Best bet is to stay in the Toyota/Scion family to ensure best fit. A side benefit: you'll love the price of 15" or 16" tires as compared to 17". When I was last looking at winter tires, Bridgestone Blizzaks in 15" were half the priced of 17".
Couple of options: 1. Utilitarian*: 15” Corolla black steel rims, circa 2003~2008 (approx). Good for snow tires for example. 2. Pretty: 15” Plug-In Prius alloy rims, circa 2012~2015. I’d second trying to procure just one replacement rim, in the stock 17” size. That’s our OEM too. They’re pretty, but somewhat hard on mpg, due to being 17”, and heavy as you-know-what. * The more I think about it: new religion? Off-shoot of Unitarian?
