Yep, using just regular spray can 3x layers topped with 3x layers clear.
The Prius engine runs so cool you don't need special paint.

Sprayed it more than a year ago and see no deterioration of paint at all.

How do you rinse and dry the egr cooler if you’re using oven cleaner? I’m planning to do mine and I ‘m searching the best and safest way to do it ... thanks

I only used oxi, but I think oven cleaner make up is similar, just stronger. I rinsed thoroughly with hot tap water, then just let it air dry. Compressed air would help I think. It’s stainless too.

    Here’s a Canadian Costco link:

    https://www.costco.ca/oxiclean-max-efficiency-stain-remover%2C-5-kg.product.100425415.html

Other larger stores would also have this, maybe in smaller sizes, Walmart for example. In case the link is problematic:

Not sure, powdered is easiest to work with, economical and you can make concentrated and hot solution.

i was thinking only high pressure hose was easiest, and also fastest. Ray once cleaned 3 egrs in 15 minutes, saved 3 prius lives including mine. No chemicals or pre soaks needed.

Love your idea , but I don’t own a pressure hose, hoping it is not too bad, I will go with chemicals to see , never done before....

Car wash bay has high pressure hoses, $2 for 4 minutes here. Water Pressure may vary.

Not sure, but maybe pressure wash harder on the cooler? There’s someone in another thread, engine transplant IIRC, had a coolant leak from the cooler, post cleaning. Not sure even what cleaning technique used.

Another question: the screw under the cooler , the one that is driving everybody crazy , do you really have to put it back ?? I looked at the pictures and I ´m not sure if it is a necessary one , makes the next egr cleaning easier if it’s already done... tell me if I’m wrong or crazy

Just the 109, which is the EPR. I bought the quart size because I want to try it on my Town&Country
with 375,000 miles. I don't drive it much anymore, but I still want to do it. :)

You don't HAVE to re-install the nut, or stud. As long as you tighten up the others.

You can get a pressure washer for $100, even less on sale. It will really make it easier, and faster.
I didn't use it the first time, but it wasn't that clogged. But the 2nd time I did on the replacement Cooler.
Clears it out quick! Then I used the oven cleaner. The water was black! I did it 3 times and by the 3rd time
the water was pretty clear. Clear enough anyways. :)
The pressure washer is not going to poke any holes in the cooler. Unless you have a 20,000 psi one with
a pin hole size nozzle, then maybe.... But your standard 2-3000 psi washer will work great.

Do not use oven cleaner on the egr valve! Use brake or carb cleaner and a brass wired brush.

Only use it on the cooler, not the valve,, it dissolves within a few seconds as for the pressure washer just go to the car wash and put a couple dollars in the machine
