Hello everyone, Bought a 2008 package 6 Prius in September with 108k miles. It's my first car, and I've enjoyed driving it so far (I really like the map, CD player, and leather/fake leather interior). Thanks to this site, I was able to find a good mechanic in my area. Apparently I had a slightly leaking water pump and some cracks in a/the timing belt. I had the height sensor-sub assembly (?) replaced a few days ago. I wasn't expecting it to help with visibility much, but I think it did. I can see signs in the dark from farther away. Now I just need to replace the front windshield wiper blades (they can't remove windshield wiper fluid or wet snow properly). I don't know much about cars (I've never done any maintenance on one before, and I'm kinda scared I might mess something up if I try), but I'm hoping to learn more soon. On that note, are there any topics that you all would recommend reading for a first time Prius/car owner? I'm still getting used to navigating the site and there's a lot of info to go through. Thanks, s'mores2000 P.S. I did add a picture. She looks a lot better after a car wash, but it's below 0 degrees (F) today, so I didn't want to get one. Also, the windshield wipers don't work well even when they aren't buried in snow xD
congrats and welcome! look through youtube for helpful videos. engine and cabin air filters are fairly easy for new diy'ers. learn how to check your engine oil and tyres pressure, and check them around every gas fill up. all the best!
Welcome , it’s good to see another ‘sea glass pearl ‘ (green) Prius , pretty rare , I was not sure when I bought it but now I just love this color , good combination with black parts.
