Safety sense has made big improvements. Also Apple CarPlay (and Android Auto on the base model in 2021).
Yes, Yes, Yes! TSS2.0 (and a veeery generous trade-in, dealer and mfg incentives, and fed/state incentives) YES!!! We traded our 2020 for a 2021 and love it. Here's our "old" and new Primes at the dealer lot:
Possibly, but with the insane deals here, 1 or 2 G's is all it takes to move to a newer, more feature endowed car. Heck... tires, wiper blades, washer fluid and a wax job could set ya' back that much! Actually, with four kids and four grand kids, we used to cycle our cars to them or charity every other year or so (we've never ever traded in a vehicle before these past three Primes). Deductions for charity stinks now; there was a time you could deduct the book value, later you had to wait for the actual auction sales price, and there are limiting caps on deductibles (yikes).

For me, my 2017 is sufficient. Only 22k miles on her. However, several folks seem to be able to trade in their current PP, use fed tax credit, use $5K Toyota incentives, use any deal markdowns, etc and even come out in the black. Can understand them doing that to get newer model with 5 seats, upgraded safety systems, reset warranty, etc. Again, for me I'm happy for right now. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Mostly TSS-P 2.0 vs 1.0 in the 2017-2020 models (and rear side airbags if you carry rear passengers). I guess there's CarPlay, AndroidAuto and Alexa if that matters. The minor updates for 2020 also include sliding sun visors, larger (and relocated) heated seat buttons and the rear 12V power outlet is replaced by 2 USB outlets.
