Hi guys, I have a 2012 Prius Plug in that's coming up on a 100 K miles. All I have been really doing is changing the oil. Is there anything else that I need to do? I'm afraid to take it to the dealership to ask the same questions as am afraid to be stuck with a big bill for fluff so thought to ask you guys & hopefully take it to my local mechanic to have those items taken care of. TIA! Tina
Yes! Clean the egr and intake manifold. Also, install an oil catch can. And you might as well change the plugs and coolants while you're at it. There are some great videos out there to help you along. Nutz About Bolts Prius Maintenance Videos | PriusChat
clean the hybrid cooling fans and intake grilles brake caliper slide oins should be lubed probably want an a/c check in texas is the 12v original? have you never changed the cabin and engine air filters? if you don't have a maintenance schedule, you can get one at toyota.com/owners
The cabin and air filters are really easy to change by yourself and will save you around $60 at the dealership. Aside from what's mentioned above, I'd probably change the transmission fluid. How much longer do you want to keep your car?
Toyota US specs engine coolant change at 100k or 10 years (inverter coolant delayed till 150k etc). I’d also clean Exhaust Gas Recirculation and Intake Manifold.
