Pulling over soon as that light comes on can mean the difference between spending very little money on getting a tire patched, versus driving on it too long and having to replace the whole tire.
yep mine too...waiting till the tires need replacement and at this rate of driving will be another 10 years.
Ya me too. I just let it remain on and don't worry about it. It's not worth $140 to me to make a meaningless light go off. If I could change batteries for $20 I might do it. I say "might" because it might not be worth $20 either LOL.
With Mazda sensors an initial set up “may” be needed (by dealership or others), but from then on you can swap tire sets (say all-seasons and snow tires), and with a few minutes driving the car recognizes the new sensors. And, last time I checked, the sensors were $30 CDN apiece.
On my 2016 Mazda the TPMS function is accomplished by the ABS speed sensors and there are no TPMS sensors on the wheels. Surprisingly it works very well as long as you reset the system when needed like when adjusting pressures, rotating wheels and disconnecting the battery.
Epilog: the light is still off so the problem was fixed. I like having the light since my son and wife drive the car and it scares me to think if they don't notice a very low or flat tire. Thanks everyone for the advice!
