Beeping after my car is turned off???

1 beep: you locked it
3 beeps: you left it in READY

 

You need to be more specific.

Inside the car or outside the car? After shutting off, or after exiting? Slow continuous beeps? Fast beeps? Long beeps?

Inside the car, it will beep (like the chime) when your key fob battery is low.

 

1 beep? 3 beeps? Come on, you have to articulate if you want accurate help...

If it is one beep, then yes your fob battery is dead.

 

I know it beeps after you turn it off and like open the door or wait a few seconds. Kind of like the equivalent of leaving your key in the ignition.

 

Sure it's not the Blue Tooth dropping the signal to your phone?

 

Try to turn your car off after stopping before opening any of your doors..
If doors is open prior to turning off after stopping, it will have beeping sound. This is what I observed on my C

 

Yes, opening a door before turning off the car will make it beep.

 

Yes - so I read the manual a bit. The instruction was to depress the brake, push power off, then Slowly bring your foot off the brake. That works for me,....... unless I'm in a hurry.

 

That's interesting, the beeping has bugged me since I bought my car, which it may just be beeping bc I have the key fob and I am still in the car but it is really annoying.

 

Turn the car off before you open the door.

 

I agree with others that it is most likely the result of opening the door before shutting the car off. It caught me off guard the first few times when parallel parking and opening my door to check my distance, then trying to turn the car off with the door still ajar.

 

Is there any way to stop it from chiming if you turn the car off after opening the door? I often open the door first, to check backing in or whatever, and I find it quite annoying.

 

I haven't found a way to do this, yet... I'm guilty of opening the door first too.

 

I don't think you need to feel guilty.
I get it, it might be best to not open the door if the car is still on. So beep at me if I do that. But after I turn the car off, the darn beep could shut up.

 

I have a similar problem. My 2018 Prius Prime Advanced beeps externally every 20 seconds while the car is turned off, and it does not stop. Does not matter if it is plugged in or not. Put new batteries in both fobs but beeping did not stop. There are no warning indicators on the dash to explain the beeping. It also does not matter whether I open the door before or after I turn off the car.
