As you know there are too many companies which offers tires like michlen, bridgestone, Toyo... Etc But the point that how I can know whether the tire that I'll get is good?? Or which brand is better for my prius Most of the companies offers insurance from 6 months to lifetime insurance but can't know which one is better as by the end we all care about quality for all seasons tires Any technical / logical suggestions? I'd be asking the question locally. Manufacturers of tyres have factories all round the world - and there have been occasions where quality has differed vastly. A case in point - Dunlop, many decades ago. At the time, Japanese cars imported to Australia had very poor Dunlop tyres, but Australia made some very good performing ones on locally assembled Japanese cars.
Here we have bridgestone, Michelin, Toyo, maxxis, I don't know what exactly different between them other than price for sure The one which in my prius are Toyo, but I'm thinking about changing them as within 39k Miles they had small shredders in them Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
What do you define as “good”? Economy mileage? Tread? Braking? Performance in rain? Snow? There are a lot of trade offs when you go performance based economy. I have Michelin cross climates which handles all seasons from bad snow to summer rain, but are bit below average in fuel economy. If you are talking in general, Michelin’s have always been pretty good, have great performance, but not so great fuel economy. They are expensive though, probably the most expensive tires in US for the normal street car.
What I will use is for all seasons tires, but I'm worried about the mileage actually and manufacturing, as I don't want any surprises I have Toyo tires, they are going great actually, but I'm thinking whether there is better tires, now you mentioned that Michelin will increase the mileage, glad to know that and yes here they are expensive too A friend recommended bridgestone, what do you think Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Bridgestone has some pretty good tires, but the choices are limited for the Prius. They have a great line of very efficient fuel economical tires, but they don’t have a good selection of all season stuff good for the snow. They do have a very good winter tire blizzaks if you are willing to swap seasonal. Living in Colorado, I need some all season tires good with snow which is why I got Michelin cross climates.
Bridgestone actually had been recommended by a friend of mine in UAE, as you know UAE weather is all hot, thanks for the feedback I'll check and search more aboy this No. Since 6 years it didn't snow but it is getting cold especially these days. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I can echo that the michelin crossclimate+ tires are awesome although a small dip in mpg. I hear that different manufacturers have different geographical/ climate markets in mind. For example nokian focuses on colder climates. Goodyear however focuses on a global market, I have heard great things of the vector 4 seasons gen 3 but it's not available everywhere, it also has good rolling resistance. Don't get Tiger Paws. My Tire Store put them on and my 2017 Prius Two mileage took 8-10 MPG hit and they are really noisy. They already know I am going to ask for something different but I said I would try them for a week or so. I hate them. Just having trouble deciding what next since they don't get the LRR tire deal for a Prius. Thinking Michelin Energy Saver but have not price yet. No reviews have a perfect LRR tire for sale. I am really sick of reading tire reviews.
I can't say enough good things about the Michelin cross climate plus the dip in MPG is fairly minimal and they drive awesome. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I live in London and had the hankook kinenergy eco 2 ( rated B/A/71 ) on my old prius gen 2 and they were fantastic in both summer and winter ( aslong as you dont get heavy snow ) . They were fast low rolling resist and really quiet, performed very well at 70mph speeds will be getting them for my gen 4 when current tyres wear down.
