The rear wiper on my Prius will not even hit the back window when it swings over- so it will not wipe my rear window. It is adjusted properly as far as the pull thing with the clip that you can move to clean the rear window. It just doesn't touch. Anyone else seen this issue? I'm trying to avoid a trip and hours at the dealership.
Have you lifted it off the screen to check there isn't something jammed in the hinge joint - that's all I can think.
Mine doesn't fully clear on the down stroke but it's perfect on the back stroke. I can live with that.
There was an issue with the rear wiper on early 2016 Prius. Seems some car washes would catch the blade and rip it off. Was supposed to be fixed by mid year 2016. Suggest you check with your dealer for a fix. P01M ?
Any solutions to this one? I've got an early 2016 Prius Three with this problem. Replaced the blade but no joy.
Has anyone ever found a solution to this problem? I’m wracking my brain and can’t find a fix, new wiper blade didn’t help. Thanks!
It's pretty useless for snow even when working properly, because it clears such a small area & piles it up right in the middle of the window.
Mine has the same issue, after a car wash ripped it off. At a toyota dealer! The maintenance guys reattached it and tried adjusting the sweep, but it’s never been the same. The blade doesn’t wipe the rear window. I’m thinking of just taking it off.
Must have been poorly designed, as I had same issue on my 2016 - it NEVER cleared the window properly. Took pics when snow-covered, then took it into dealership- they replaced the blade (LOL). Then i returned and ultimately they replaced the complete motor assembly (only time my extended warranty was used and covered it) and it STILL did not clean/clear the window of water or snow. I gave up. Told them they wasted two days of my life on a "no solution" deal. Eventually sold the 2016 and bought a 2020 Prime - problem solved as IT HAS NO REAR WIPER.
Thanks, I’m going to remove my rear wiper. Maybe gain a 0.0015 percent increase in aerodynamic efficiency!?
