Adding ..... I replaced the engine control unit, the engine started, it was running for about 3 minutes and then it jumped and stopped.
I made a diagnosis and the codes are the same as P0351-P0352-P0353-P0354-P3190 but this time there is no P3191 code

I do not know what to do

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Regards

your first post wasn't translated, but i'm wondering if whatever fried the ecu the first and second time is what you should be focusing on.

this is the first untranslated post

Hi I also have the problem of starting the engine
I live in Italy and mine is a 12/2009 Prius with 155,000 miles
    The error codes are P0351-P0352-P0353-P0354-P3190-P3191
I took the car to Toyota and their engine ECU diagnosed malfunction
so that they emptied the tank and found dirty gasoline now replaced with clean gasoline, they replaced the spark plugs but the car didn't
has started They say it is definitely the engine control unit
Now very expensive I parked outside the dealership and I remove the ECU to buy a used one and copy the files
    The number is 89661-47280

Do you think this is the correct diagnosis?

I suspect that the engine consumes oil, it wets the spark plugs and the engine dies

Whoever cloned the engine control unit to me said that they did not find worn or burnt contacts on the original one

This evening I went to the dealership and together with the mechanic we tried to start the car.
the car started there was for only a moment that a cylinder did not start but then the whole engine started spinning for seconds after which the revs dropped suddenly and then stopped
    with the teachstream the codes were p351 p352 p353 p354 p3091
the mechanic keeps saying that it is the engine control unit to be replaced
but I replaced it with a used one and nothing has changed
The mechanic replaced the egr valve, throttle body, fuel pump spark plugs, and then reassembled the original

I do not know what to do

When you look at the dipstick to check the motor oil, what do you see? Does the oil have a cloudy appearance or is it clear? Head gasket failure is a common issue with these early Gen 3 cars. I believe a leak down test is the recommended way of determining whether or not your head gasket is OK. If any of the cylinders fail to hold compression, you are probably going to need to replace the entire engine, hopefully with another low mileage one from a wrecker. (In most cases, the labor involved in replacing the head gasket and resurfacing the head on your current engine makes that uneconomic, especially since you cannot be sure there is no lower end damage to your engine from running a mixture of oil and coolant). The leak down test is fairly inexpensive and provides useful information even if the head gasket is not your main problem. Hopefully everything works out for you one way or the other.

All in all, the oil is clean even if it needs to be replaced
The car consumes oil it is true, about half a kilo per 5000 km, but as regards the cylinder head gasket there is no lowering of the water level and no oil pollution

P0351 to P0354 are codes indicating an electrical issue, a confirmation pulse from the ignition coil is not being received by the ECU. They also came up in this other recent thread where there is also a link to a Repair Manual section on troubleshooting the cause of the code. It may be useful to have access to an oscilloscope to watch what happens with the IGTn and IGF pulses.

thanks, very important information after i read that in some occasions it is enough just for one coil to give the wrong signal to the ecu which can turn out to be all 4 coils fault

Tomorrow the car will be checked by an auto electrician

    thanks

Hello, I update you on the response of the electrician:

For him it is either the relay group 82641-71010 or the power management unit 8961-47100 that creates the problem

Now I have replaced the realys group but the problem is still waiting for the power management unit

Anyone know what this is for? Relay Integration 82641-47040 and relay R7 90987-02025 I think these elements are also related to the problem?

    Regards

    good evening

Today I mounted the power management control unit and the car did not go into READY

so I did a scan of the ECU and there were no errors

I reassembled the old power management control unit and the car started

    question

Should the control unit be coded with the number of vin or not?

    Update

I changed the electrician, and the result was seen .. He replaced the white control unit of the integrated relays and the car started and no longer presented the errors ....)))) that I have seen up to now

It has new errors concerning the gearbox lock C2304 C2305 C2306 and they do not reset

Now let's have the holidays and then we'll solve this too and then finally after 2 1/2 months I'll get my car back

    regards

    Happy Holidays!
is 82641-47030 a european specific part or for 2010s? i'm not certain.
My 2012 has a 82641-47090 (integration relay #1) which is supposedly current or latest version for gen3 / ZVW30 here.
you can check the code by following this. just be careful.

i'm having similar issues with P035* but probably caused by something else... mine looks to be a overheated blown fake ignition coil installed by the PO, but i cant test since i found out about the coil after i took the engine apart.

Thanks Tacopyro I have read the page and tomorrow I will show it to the electrician.
I think component 82641-47030 is specific for year of production and not for sales market but actually I don't know what controls that component

The component I replaced is used I hope you are not causing new problems because I have never had problems on the gearbox but only on the engine

Let us know when you have repaired your Prius what was the cause of the anomaly

    regards

    REPAIRED REPAIRED REPAIRED

The nightmare that lasted 80 days is finally over

After the Toyota dealership and an auto electrician who were unable to repair the Prius, the third electrician in just 20 days was able to revive a car that has now become useless.

    In summary, the problem was:

Car in motion, the thermal engine turned well when started and after ten seconds the number of revolutions lowered and turned off

Warning lights on: Engine warning light, Pcs, Yellow triangle and the item Check the hybrid system appeared

Solution: Replacement of integrated relay unit 82641-47031

and cleaning from oxidation of the masses in the engine compartment

My compliments go to the electrician who stubbornly worked hard and solved the problem

Cost: 1100 euros for the difficulty of finding the defect

I hope my post will be useful to anyone who will read it

Best wishes and happy new year to you all
