I had a scare yesterday since mice chewed through the felt and dragged 20 french fries onto the cabin air filter. As I am trying to replace the felt, the part does not exist. Can somebody suggest how I go about closing this (I assume air intake)? thank you Jonas
You may be able to use weatherstripping to replace the felt. If you can find where they got in, some wire mesh is needed there. The little devils get into obscure places and chew through the wiring harness.
I’m wondering. How can a rat or mice get a hold of 20 French fries and just leave them on your cabin air filter. If I was a rat I’d eat them as fast as I could.
Years ago, I had a VW Passat that featured an AC flow-through duct at the glove box that supposedly was designed to keep your sandwich cold while you were driving. Needless to say, I never used it that way.
If you care enough to remove the dash and the blower housing, it probably won't be hard to glue in a new little piece of felt from the neighborhood fabric store. You might not care that much.
I WOULD NOT!! LOL!! You never know what those meesces are going to do. Several years ago, I posted a photo of my GEN II engine air filter box filled with Cheerios. We do have cheerios in the house, especially nowadays, but we NEVER have mice in the house and there were no Cheerios missing, as far as I could tell. Closest neighbor is at least a half-mile away.....only thing we ever figured was a bird grabbed a bag of them somewhere and dropped said bag somewhere on our place..... kris
After the first one hundred and thirty-five he decided to stash a few for later. It was that or explode.
