WP is western peninsula? Tampa Hybrids is one of the best hybrid shops. They sell good used hybrids too.

From what I can see in the pictures when I zoom in, it looks like three of them are down to the warning bars and one is pretty new. Also, it looks like one of the rims is bent. If you did get 81,000 miles out of them, you got your money's worth, but I'd for sure get that rim checked out. I'm sure, if you get new tires, that they will want that taken care of before mounting the tires.

It looks like the curb scrape also caught the lip of the steel rim, so not only is the plastic cover damaged, but the lip of the steel rim is rolled back just a bit. The good news is that it doesn't look to be affecting the bead seal, so the tire is not losing air. Although it doesn't look more than cosmetic, depending on how badly the steel rim lip is bent, a tire store may or may not want to use that rim with a new tire. They may insist on replacing that rim. A new tire, (rim and tire together) could probably be purchased from ebay or craigslist for $50-$75 to get a replacement rim instead of buying a new one at some rediculous OEM price.

I've seen a lot worse damage than that and the car was still being driven with no problems, but you never know for sure if the tire is slowly losing air or not. Only time will tell.

I'm curious what the tire place is talking about in regard to 'egg shaped'? Are there egg shaped bulges in the tire? If that's the case, then there's some delamination problems and that tire is in serious danger of blowing out. Anytime a tire looks like it has a big blister, that tire needs to be taken out of service immediately. If this were the case, I would expect the store to provide you with some serious warnings.

You're a bit late to the party. The correct part has been identified already.

lol WP in WINTER PARK :)

So they took me outside in the pit- and spun my tires around and showed me how the tires were not all the way rounded- they were warped from whatever elements did that to them in air- that is what they suggested. They also suggested new tires- so even though I HATE that idea I might have to blow a bunch of $ on new tires..

Great throw more money at the dealership thanks for the feedback

Just don't blow a bunch of your money at the dealership. Shop around - Mavis, STS, etc.

If your car needs new tires, rather than paying the dealer’s premium for the convenience of one-stop shopping, consider a tire shop, such as Discount Tire or Tires Plus. You’ll often find a wider selection, including some safe but modestly-priced alternatives that dealers wouldn’t usually offer, and generally lower prices.
Read the U.S. DOT tire identification number on the sidewall. The last four digits give the week and year the tire was made.

I didn't say anything about the dealership. Shoot, even I can check to see if a wheel is out of round in my driveway. But since it looks like you need new tires anyway, do what the sensible people here have already recommended. Go to a tire store. If you don't have one in Winter Park, you can find one over here about every other block it seems like. ;) If you do need to replace a wheel, get it from EBay or Craigslist. If you con't mind a bit of a drive, you can probably get a used wheel for not much money from Tampa Hybrids. He doesn't do tires but he tends to have wheels available from wrecked cars he gets in.
