Hello everyone, I am considering getting a Prius and right now I am looking at two used ones. I am not 100% familiar with cars and am not sure which one would be the better option/deal. My max budget is around 17k and these are the ones I think are good options: 2019 Toyota Prius L Eco 4dr Hatchback, 25,062 Miles, $16,950 VIN: JTDKARFU8K3073056 2018 Prius Two, 47K miles $16,998 VIN: JTDKBRFU7J3058317 I included the vins if you'd like more info online. The warranty on the battery is based on the age of the car and the miles on the odometer. Given that, I'd be inclined to go with the newer car with the lower miles. They are only one model different so I doubt the features will be significantly different. However, you might check to see which one has a spare tire. That might be important to you. I think the model Two has a spare. Also, you want to check the MPG for the total mileage driven on each car. The higher that number is, the more carefully the owner drove the car. Check for any body damage and how well the hatch closes. Look for how well the body lines match around the hatch when it is closed. Check the wear on the tires. It is possible that the 2018 has the original tires on it and you won't want to replace those right off the bat.
eco is a bit of a different model. i would research that a bit. if you like it, it seems like the better deal, all else being equal.
You can expect 150K miles or more out of the cars, so the 20K difference is not as much as it seems. The L-Eco appears to be a more economical version. The Prius two has more features than the Eco. I really like the Cross traffic alert and Blind spot monitoring. Spare tire was mentioned. The Two has a spare. The ECO does not. Also, the ECO does not have a rear wiper, if that matters to you. Best bet is to look in the brochures to compare features. (I hope these aren't considered too large for the forum.)
