Excellent clarity, as usual. Thanks for the follow-up. Sadly (environmentally speaking!) we don't have bug issues here, but keeping a car clean is much easier.
I once had to deal with a deluge of tree sap, found a cloth dampened with kerosene and then a dab of car polish worked well.
One of the things I liked about living on our island off the north coast of Honduras was that I never had to clean bugs off the truck. Don't get me wrong. We had TONS of bugs. But there was no place on the island where we could go fast enough to make them go splat. Salt, on the other hand ... that's a different story.
