So I got the broken vent issue because 1) plastic was brittle as hell, 2) those clips would NOT give up. I was able to source another set from a wreck for $60, but paranoid about adding them in case I need to get them off in the future. Has anyone considered adding grease, modifying the clips, or something so they don't shatter in pieces later? I was thinking about just a small amount of Vasoline on each clip.
Maybe a silicone, something like Motorcraft XG-3, tons of uses. Little dab 'll do. I think Vaseline is petroleum based, and might even accelerate the weakening of the plastic.
