Every dealer has told me the rebate from the state is $1,100 and the toyota factory discount (in NY) is $3000. NYSERDA is the authority here:

Oh, by rebate I meant the $3,000 Toyota factory rebate, which is not a before-tax discount, not any third-party clean-vehicle rebates. This clean-vehicle rebate is discounted from the vehicle purchase price. It's good that you don't have to file for this later and it's also, unlike the after-tax Toyota rebate, a before-tax discount.

As I said before, you must ask for the OTD quote with a full breakdown. You need to know what the dealer discount is. Try to get an at least $2,000 dealer discount.

Seems like you are in SoCal. I am in Orange County as well and looking to get the XLE. Did you try carmax for your trade-in? I just wonder if it will be less hassle in negotiation with the dealer. TIA

Is your PM function working? It has been out of service for a few months now. Mine from the web browser still is not working.

Yap, seems to be "Start a Conversation" works from the phone app but not from the web browser.

edit: This problem has been mentioned in this thread: PM or Conversation not working at this time | PriusChat
I now know that "Start a Conversation" works for some people but not all. For me, either Chrome OS Chrome browser or Windows PC Firefox browser shows Page Not Found error shown below. But the phone app can initiate a new message. The web browser can not initiate a new conversation but can receive and reply to the message thread started.

We're just shy of 33k OTD now. Should have it home by the end of the day. :)

Here is the final quote for a 2021 PP Limited that I received from a Maryland dealer. The good news is that Uber rebate is still applicable.

Net price after dealer discount $32,805
    Toyota Rebate -$4,000
    Uber Rebate -$750
    Processing Fee $500
    Tax (Virginia) $1,185.03
    Non-tax Fee $220
    Total OTD $29,960.03

They've given you about a $1,900 dealer discount (after the bogus processing fee). You could probably negotiate for another $500, but since you're getting such a big factory rebate, it's not worth it. A thousand dollar here, another there hardly matter because you will be spreading it over a loan for about 60 months. Drive home and be happy. The 2021 Prius Prime Limited with TSS 2.0 and the incredible multitude of the packaged goodies is a great car (especially in Blue Magnetism ;))!

Is the NYS $1,100 rebate applicable if I purchase in NJ but register in NY?

    Good evening, CitiPrius!
This is a nice deal. Back in August/September, A couple of our friends on this forum shared purchase information for Prime and I tried to negotiate with a couple of dealers but couldn't succeed and then got tangled up with work. Again, I think I have like a week or so to buy a new Prius Prime and get the tax rebate for this year. Can you share the dealership info from where you bought your car? And the person you dealt with?
Thanks very much for your help.
    Gauri.

Just purchased a 2020 Upgrade w/ Tech package here in Canada (I think it's basically the Limited trim in the US) and finally joined the PHEV crowd.

Did I get a decent enough deal? I know I could've waited until the crazy end-of-year sales but I got the exact trim and colour I wanted and felt pretty comfortable with the price.

    MSRP: $40,000.00 ($31,300 USD)
    Total Dealer discounts: -$5,000.00
    Gov't Rebates: -$4,000.00
    Selling Price $30,310.00 ($23,720 USD)

    Freight & environmental fees: $1,890.00
    Dealer & doc fees: $625.00
Total Interest on 0.49% financing: $500.00
    Sales Taxes: $4,000.00

Total Out the door price: $37,325.00 ($29,210 USD)

By any chance, does anyone have the PDF for the Uber incentive for this year available? All I can find is last year's form with Google.

This seems at least a little surprising:

I contacted a local-ish dealer here in New England and got an out the door price of $28,886 for a 2021 Prime Limited. I live in NH so no sales tax, but it breaks down to about a $3,900 dealer discount on top of the $3,000 TMS cash back + $600 “doc fee”. So, actually a $3,300 dealer discount. No haggling/etc. though.

I inquired at another, closer, dealer (haven’t heard back yet), but is there anything else to watch out for? Based on recent comments here, I was expecting more of a ~$2,000 dealer discount with some work.

2020 Prime in Blue magnetism, LE, brand new in February. Options were all weather floor mats (the ones with the “leaf” on them), body colored side moldings, trunk cargo liner,’and the rear sliding tonneau cover. Pics of window sticker:

Got them to drop the process fee, threatened to walk (I was trading in my 2019 Subaru WRX) and go get the Hyundai Ionic (I was bluffing). They really wanted the WRX as it was mint with only 10k miles, I guess. Also, about 2 months later I received a $500 check from the PA Dept of energy. So if you go by that (not discussing the $4500 Fed tax credit just yet): $28,998 - $930 - $500 = $27,568 before the usual taxes and tags etc. Not bad.

Also I had Toyota install a real remote start on the vehicle for free (came with another little FOB) and my Mom had purchased a 2018 RAV4 hybrid a year or so earlier so they wanted keep our business, I suppose.

Also, I have passed by and visited this particular Toyota dealer probably 20 times since back in Feb, and I’ve never seen ONE other new Prime for sale. Just the regular new Prius and a $70k TRD 4 Runner that has been sitting on the lot for 6 months.
