Well i figured i should come here and make a post. My daily driver is a Yukon XL and i needed something better on gas. I picked up a 2010 Prius II for $4000 with 197k miles on it. Due to the mileage and unknown history the first thing i did was maintenance such as changing all fluids including engine, transmission, inverter coolant and engine coolant. While i had it apart i changed the spark plugs and cleaned the EGR circuit including the intake. So far this car is amazing! i have put about 8k miles on it so far. I average about 40-50mpg on my 70-75mph commute and can easily get 50-55mpg if i back the speed down. It burns zero oil between changes and does not feel like it has over 200k miles on it.
We are a four Prius family. 2009, two 2010s, and a 2015 Prius v (wagon). They all drive smoothly and get great mileage. Enjoy, and hope someone develops a decent hybrid truck SOON. My sister in Oregon needs a hybrid to replace her aging Yukon. — Bill Burkholder
