Old battery died. Got a remanufactured battery installed. The capacity seems great, better than my last battery ever was. Old one would run the 900 second Dr Prius test and finish with 300 or so seconds left, got maybe 65% at best. This one goes over 900 seconds to almost 19 minutes or around 95%. Voltage differential looks good but two blocks have higher resistance than I ever saw on the old failed pack. Dr Prius marks them as yellow so at least the app author considers it a bit of a warning threshold. Checked the resistance values at a cold start with a batt temp as low was 46 and also after a long day of driving with a batt temp of 100. Block 1 is at 30, block 7 is 32. The rest are between 24-27. Interestingly block 1 generally has the highest voltage and block 7 tends to be one of the two lower volage blocks. Voltage differential is around .10-.25.
As long as the temp doesn't got to high or the resistance doesn't get worse you'll be fine for a while.... In general remanufactured are just rebuilt packs, not brand new. A brand new pack is trouble free for 10 years. A rebuilt pack is more like 3 months to 3 years depending on who did the work. What kind of warranty did the pack come with?
