Oh wow glad you got to enjoy the area! It’s a very pretty place. Always love cursing the country roads around here

That looks like the kind of typo I tend to make. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: I once left the "f" out of "shift" on a motorcycle forum.

Anyway, I love those curving rolling hills. Just totally relaxing. It's the roads here in the Tampa area that I actually curse. :D

A long ago, somebody at Corporate left the "f" out of "shift register" on the descriptions that were automatically filled in on our material lists. It took a while to convince my very straight-laced boss that I didn't write those descriptions, they were force-fed from some new process pushed on us from above.

I find I'm getting anywhere between 20mpg and 60mpg all depending on how and where I drive it. Pulse and glide over long distances really increases the fuel mileage. Driving short trips starting with a frozen sub zero engine through slush and snow with studded snow tires and tire chains and heater on full blast really decreases fuel mileage.

I’m a sr citizen and not in a hurry.
My ‘06 consistently lists 45.1-45.6 mpg on the consumption screen.
I only reset if I’m required (battery disconnect, maintenance)

It seems to me that the CA fuel is mainly responsible for the mileage drop.
Although I used to coast & glide like a madman years ago to increase mpg. Most of the time, back then, from 2008-2014 my consumption screen was in the 48mpg range

Now I just drive slowly mostly, no longer in a hurry.

My wife, on the other hand, has an ‘09
She sits in parking lots with the air conditioner on.
Starts it in the morning when it’s cold, and sits in the driveway for 5min or longer.
So her screen consistently reads 42-43 mpg

That's about where ours has been on our multi-state trips since we bought the car almost 5 years ago.

Are you guys using the screen readout for mpg or calculating it? If calculating, doesn't the silly fuel bladder give inconsistent readings? I've had the Prius for a few years now and I don't think the bladder has ever been completely full.

Indeed it does. But they average out. If you put in less one time, you would probably put in more the next time. The averages tend to be just a few mpg less than the readout, which is also true in Gen 3 and Gen 4 but it sure is nice to be rid of that stinkin' bladder.

I think I already said this, but I calculated the hybrid Avalon's fuel mileage for a year and got exactly the same reading the dash did.

I always trust what the pump says. Usually it is 0,1 or 0,2 litres more than the car's reading. So when I have a reading of 5,2l/100km I expect 5,4 litres of real consumption.

    2013—-77,000 mi ——47+ mpg
Both measured manually not display estimates.

My 06' has nearly 300k and I can get 50ish mpg out of it usually. I run Chevron regular and just do the speed limit...mostly ;)

2004 still has it! Even though today is warm in the 50s this week has mostly been colder in the 30s-40s here in Nashville.

My 2007 is only getting 18 miles per gallon. Drives fine but I should have just bought an SUV.

I highly doubt that, unless there is black smoke from the tailpipe, dragging brakes or nearly flat tires.
