    Hello,

    I have an '08 Prius with 30k miles, and the VSC light came on. The car still runs and drives. I scanned it with a Genisys and I got the code C1310. Has anybody had this problem or have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated!!

    C1310 is logged by the Skid Control ECU when the HV ECU has logged some problem with traction control. When this, or C1259, is logged, Enhanced VSC operation is prohibited. The service manual says to diagnose it by getting codes from the HV ECU.

    You should take it to a Toyota dealer, as they should have the correct equipment to read those codes and diagnose the issue. If you post the codes here, we may be able to help further.

    If you have an '08 with 30K miles, it should be covered by warranty.

    C1310 is a code that says "hey, there's a problem with the hybrid drive system- go check the HV ecu and HV battery ecu for codes".
    Here's a tip- use the search function as there are many posts covering this subject.

    I have had this code and I would like you to find out if any of the speed sensors are bad.

    If the car has been in accidents and hit at either wheel then chances are the sensor is bad.

    I replaced both my rear hubs, one was aftermarket and one was OEM.

    No more codes, so look into the speed sensors of you car.

    That may well have been the case for you and had you looked up what codes were reported in the other ECUs you probably would have found brake-related codes in one or more of the brake system ECUs.

    Like mr_guy_mann said, 'C1310 is a code that says "hey, there's a problem with the hybrid drive system- go check the HV ECU and HV battery ECU for codes"'.

    @dolj

    The speed sensors are what make the regen work once these go bad you will get these very same codes.

    These things do not just go away from replacing a parts that have nothing to do with the discription of the fault code.

    I had both those codes and replacd both rear wheel hubs w/sensors and the codes went away and guess what my 15 year old hybrid battery started working again after changing just one module too before any more modules went bad after getting those two codes which stop all regen capabilities.

    There are codes for the speed sensor malfunctions. If there is a problem with the speed sensors, they will set the appropriate codes. In addition, there will be communications with other system ECUs to notify them that there are problems and those ECUs will, in turn, acknowledge the 'heads up' by setting a code in their ECUs.

    That is why you need a capable code reader that can read all ECU so you get the complete picture. Things usually make more sense when you can see the full picture.

    BTW, I have seen many many reports stating those two codes which stop all regen capabilities and the speed sensors were just fine.
