It's hard to tell because it's so far away, but it looks like the tie down hook.

Isn't that the tow-truck connector, in case you need to be winched out of a ditch?

 

I pulled the undercovers on my 14 PiP to measure for a curt hitch. I didn't see whatever that is - circled in the pic - on my PiP. And unless that pic is a mirror image of the actual view, my muffle was on the other side of the car.

Is that your 14' PiP ? or just a pic you downloaded?

No needed, the hitch you install can now be used instead of that hook, just dont get rid of it in case u need remove the hitch.
