I visited the (only?) Lucid store today at the Valley Fair Mall in Silicon Valley.
Couldn't get in the car (Covid) but I could stick my head through the window.
I like the displays. The center console display is interesting because it retracts into the dash.
Couldn't play with any of the UI of course. Looks like it is well thought out with a combination of touch screen and tactile buttons

I'd be more interested if I needed all the space...backseat is huge. Perfect car for Uber/Lyft to pickup people after a basketball game.

The sales guy knew his stuff. But claimed that there were more CCS chargers than Superchargers.
Showed me on a tablet using Plug share to prove it. I mentioned that the typical Supercharger location had many more plugs than CCS locations but he claimed "no"

I did sign up for a test drive which they might have in 2 or 3 months.

Direct observation is always more useful than the alternative.

    GOOD LUCK!

Is there a reason this is in the Tesla forum and not the Lucid section?

They are a direct Tesla competitor.
When I went to the Lucid forum there was no one there, like a vacant street during a lockdown :)

    Feel free to move it.

When there were no Tesla-like cars, it was easy to follow the pioneer. But Lucid is a follower thinking they can share some of the Tesla glory ... but we've already seen what Tesla has already done. Let me share an example from aviation:

First flight. We remember this because no one had done it before.

    Subsequent refinement led to:
    Kelly Johnson's inspired dream.

The step from no airplane to the Wright flyer remains much, much higher than subsequent refinement ... a tweak. Both were hard but the Wright flyer was much harder.

I think the competition is great. It's makes the products better for buyers. The Lucid is huge for my needs but it seems to be pretty well thought out. Definitely not cheap.

You could contribute and make it occupied lol.

I started that just a few weeks ago. Of course it’ll be empty. :).

    Update.

It's been over 3 months. I keep getting emails every few weeks. But so far no indication of a signup for a test drive.
Maybe you need to put a deposit down to get in one.
