This morning, I started the Prius. Put it in reverse to drive out of garage. When I put in drive this message came up. Batteries will not charge when neutral. Tried three times to put Prius in drive by restarting the car but each time this message appears. Any ideas what is up? Prius is a 2008.
Do you have any warning lights? If so reading the error codes will help... Or if you can't easily do that right now try disconnecting the 12v battery for 5 minutes and see if that helps?
Did you have the door open a little? That happened with me when I didn’t fully shut the door, which prevented the car from going into drive. Opened and shut the door firmly, and that took care of it.
