2017 prius prime squeak and creaking noise from rear left side of car

Ya, I wish there was a TSB or someone we can contact at Corporate.

Same exact sound from me. I took out ALL the plastic in the rear and drove around. Still there! To me it sounds like something either between the battery compartment and chassis or with the PRIME, its the two batter compartments rubbing together some how.

After reading some other previous posts, i wonder if it has something to do with the Shock absorbers or Springs in the rear.

I removed, as you did, all the plastic in the trunk, and of course the noise still there.

I have a 2020 Prius Prime XLE and have this same problem. Whatever is causing this issue still hasn't been resolved.

 

I also had this annoying issue and I took it into my dealership last year and apparently it annoyed the master tech enough to tackle the issue for couple of days.

He isolated the noise to the support plate that is spot welded and apparently the plates were rubbing on the body when my Prime was going over the bumps and dips.

I uploaded and left a link of the repair notes for future reference.

 

So you need to remove rear seats ?
What plate is he talking about ? I can't figue it out ?

Sorry man, I wish I could help, but I have no clue since the Toyota master tech tackled this issue. If your car is still under warranty, I would recommend taking in your Prime to your local dealership and have them look up the TSB and have them address the issue.

 

It's not under warranty anymore. So there is a TSB about it ? I didn't know that...

 

There was a service bulletin for that, for 4th gen Prius. Maybe Primes are in the same boat?

 

That statement was from three years ago.

But could be the same.

I know our 2019 does not have any creaks so far.

But it will eventually.
