I have a 2017 prius two that I am currently using for Grubhub. I hate the way this thing drives and the stigma of driving it. I've only had it for a few months. I can make money if I sell it. I also payed 1,500 down. Either convince me to like it and keep it, or advise a replacement. Should have at least 25mpg. 20k budget. 25k absolute max. Fun to drive.
If you don’t like it, why keep it? My vote is to sell it. As for options, Mazda3 Civic CX-3 CX-5 Accord (V6 if you buy used) 2020 Sentra SR 2019+ Corolla SE or XSE (only SE has a manual) 2021 Corolla SE Apex Edition ($25,070 plus TTL)
Yep, used Mazda 3. Are you driving it in sport? It helps a bit. Also remember that in normal mode the first part of the accelerator is for the electric motor only so if you want to get moving go straigt to half.
what was your prior vehicle? did u like it? anytime you have an opportunity to make money ethically, morally and legally, don't whiff
Yeah, but are you gonna be happy with another car? I don't think you will simply because you are asking strangers to help you decide which car to buy. Buying a car is about emotion.
Think back to WHY you bought it - has that reason changed? Personally, I like mine - it isn't as sporty as my FOCUS 2.0 Diesel 6sp Manual I had before - but it uses less fuel - and does everything I ask of it. Never noticed any stigma - but then I ignore all the ignorant drivers who drive small trucks - knowing I'm using 1/3 the fuel they are, in more comfort, and I can fit into any carparking space.
Driving a Prius / Hybrid is not for everyone and I totally could see why you hate it but I love mine mostly because of the gas mileage. I think Mazda 3 or Civic or Accord with the turbo engine would be fun too and still get great gas mileage.
If you "have to be convinced" to like something or keep it, then you're never going to like it, and you probably shouldn't keep it. As far as "making money" by selling a car....only car dealers do that....but you will learn that lesson in due time....
Mx5 Is Always The Answer... well, until it isn't. if you need something more practical, yep my vote goes to the Mazda3 hatch. Older generations of both are solid and probably easier to find w manual trannies for max fun unless you really want to spend as much as $20k. GTI or golf tsi/tdi will put a smile on your face but you'll take a hit in reliability and resale value. You won't value the reliability of your prius until your replacement car leaves you stranded somewhere so consider keeping your prius around for a couple months if you choose to switch back... we will welcome you back w open arms!
Just beware - the current model Mazda3 has a terrible back seat. You wouldn't want to put your worst enemy in there, visibility is poor (compared with a PRIUS) - and the boot is very small compared with a PRIUS. Children wouldn't be happy in the back seat.
If it was me, I would trade or sell outright since it sounds like you are unhappy with the prius. you might like a hyundai Ioniq hybrid and you can buy a used one at a very reasonable price. My 2019 ioniq is a great car for the money and fun to drive.
