It should reset after a few days. That is what happened to me twice.

You’ve seen the same message, but the problem may be quite different. Please see my reply in your thread.

I booked my car Toyota Prius 2017 Business Edition as I was getting a sign Pre collision system malfunction (line assistant error) sign on my dash and I waited a very long time For An appointment then they kept the car for two days then they ring me and first they told me this car has no line assistance function in the vehicle ,the lane assistance button was located on steering wheel and they did not have a clue what they were doing ,then I was told this cars needs plenty of work for the car to be fully repaired and they told me I needed to spend a couple of thousands then the car would be fixed also they said the car needs the front radar front camera ECU to be changed, They said that if the car is involved in a crash then the sign comes permanently and cannot be removed and it’s a European law ,I bought my car home and I checked all fuses and I seen that one of fuse had blown therefore I changed the fuse everything was fixed without any cost ,these technicians don’t have no idea what they are doing and need to be educated ,and they charge extortionate prices and are a rip off However these technicians have no idea of hybrid vehicles :( very bad service please can you improve this ASAP as people are paying lots of money to repair with a dealer

I think I found the problem. There are two black plastic clips on the side of the radar. Please check those clips. Most likely they need adjustment or replacement. But unfortunately toyota does not sell them separately. Any idea where we can purchase those clips?

This is an old reply, but can you expand on what was wrong with these clips?

This right here gets my attention.

If the (radar) sensor is at all loose - and others you compared it to are tight - that may be all it takes to cause the problem.

A sensor that isn't tight *could* be moving around, changing angles, reflecting radar beams off of pavement, cars, walls, abutments, etc - and throwing codes.

"Why" it's loose is the $64,000 question (showing my age). Impact? Plastic cracked from age, heat, stress?

"How" it's loose - that is - a unit not properly screwed to a mount vs a unit with a piece flopping around inside - could give you clues as to what cause it, but I'm thinking "Loose" all by itself is a problem when you're talking something that needs to be kept pointing *precisely* the same direction. If you think about it, that the DRCC can decide whether to slow the vehicle or not based on a vehicle 200 feet ahead in one lane but not the other - that's a high degree of precision.
