Gen3 a new engine consume more oil witten in gen3 manual

Hello experts i m also like to automotive job and done studies abound automotive
But when i read gen3 prius manual in
Do it yourself maintenance section
Oil consumption there is a point written
That the new engine will consume more oil.
So as i know the oldest the engine the more oil consumption but here written opposite any one have any explanation about this??

Thanks for the reply it means then after some 2 or 3k miles there should not be oil consumption after when rings settle

U are right but practically we have seen less examples of it and new have not consume oil so is it with toyota this model?
