Good morning, all. We have one Gen-2 Prius and are considering buying another. I am missing an eye, so depth perception isn’t a strong suit. When I can, I park in a pull-through slot so that I don’t have to back out, but this is not possible in every parking lot. A backup camera would be very useful, but neither Prius is equipped with one. Is it possible to retrofit a backup camera, and have it work like a factory camera? I’d rather not bodge a screen in to the car(s) when all the infrastructure should already exist to use the touchscreen as a display. Thank you for the advice.
The Boyo cameras look good. Reasonably priced, feature-rich, And simple. Do you know if I (not an expert mechanic by any stretch but not completely without skill) could install one of these, and have it display on the touchscreen in the car when I shift in to reverse?
I believe the screen is 6v and the camera is 12v. You may have to find a wire harness to convert it. iPhone ?
