Date Ordered: 04/24/04 Dealer Ordered From (Incl. City/State): Stevenson Toyota -West, Denver, CO Timeframe given for delivery: 4+ months Color: Seaside Perl Option Package: #7 Your # on Dealer's Waiting List: #118 (when I ordered it) When I placed the order, the salesman wrote it up for a 2005 model. We both knew that I would probably never get a 2004. I called yesterday to check my status on the list and I've move to #89. At this rate I should have it by the end of the year. The dealership is open on Dec 31st, so I might still be able to get the 2004 tax credit (or whatever)
wow Denver Colorado is getting cars at the rate of 15 a month?? wow... must be nice. i have no idea what i was when i signed up at my dealership because they simply would not give out the information until i was down to #3-4 since my dealer was getting 3-4 cars every two weeks.
Sure, Chris. I "ordered" a Prius through Longmont Toyota in March. I filled out a form, and the Dealership sent a custom order to Toyota Corporate. There is no way of knowing where you are on Toyota's list. All I know is that Prii custom ordered through Longmont Toyota in January are arriving now. (Infer what you like). I like Longmont because they are strictly MSRP. NO HANDLING FEE. $0. That's how cars should be sold! I also live there, so I get 10% off service for buying a car there. I also am on the list at Boulder Toyota (Since March). Price is MSRP +$289. I don't where I stand, but could get a package 9 by August. I'll have to wait longer for my package 7. Also, please update your profile here on Priuschat.com to include your location. (Feel free to be as vague as you like). This has become my pet peeve. ;-) Nate
I stopped into Longmont Toyota back in early April (I work a moderate walking distance from there) when I started looking at the Prius. Unfortunately they didn't have a model available to test drive and I really don't like buying a car that I haven't driven before. So I looked up Stevensen Toyota (closer to home) on the web and they keep a model around strictly for test driving. Their fleet manager set up a test drive for me and my wife, we liked it, we liked the sales guy, we placed our order. Now all I need is my car. Chris P.S. Update my profile (again). This time I hit the submit button.
i ordered through my local dealer and got my car at list price which was to the penny exactly as the order was written up at. my dealer didnt tell me where i was on the list until i was in the top 3 and the reason for this was the fact that the dealership could not predict their allotment and decided on the "no tell" policy so as not to get my hopes up for nothing. and during the past year, their minimum twice monthly shipment was 3 cars. at times, including when my car arrived their allotment was as much as 12 cars. but keep in mind that it took 154 days for my car to arrive and i was (huge mistake on looking back NOW) only on the one list since i have dealt with the same salesman for years through two different dealerships and felt like he would always do whatever he could to get me what i wanted. dont get me wrong, i am not unhappy with the salesman and i guess if i had the chance i wouldnt have done anything different, it was all the dealership and beyond his control. i do kick myself for delaying my order for a month because of financial reasons especially since the delay was totally unnecessary. (I paid cash for the car as i didnt want to deal with financing so had to wait for the money. little did i know that the wait wouldnt have anything to do with money)
I called my salesman today...my car has been assigned, BC Driftwood Pearl (Gold)... will ship on july 15th and I should have it by the end of July...WOO-HOO
I ordered a silver #9 from John Elway Toyota on East Arapahoe Road on March 8, '04. I was told and the paperwork said 8~10 weeks. I am still waiting. As of 7/5, I had move up to #31 on their list. They said that they are getting 7~8 per month.
Woo Hoo! I've moved down to #66 on the list. If this keeps up, I'll have my new car in mid-October. My dealer tells me he's getting 8-10 per month, so there must be some attrition off his list since I've moved up 23 spaces in a 6 weeks. Chris
Stevinson Toyota's Prius delievery prediction I just picked up mine from Stevinson Toyota last week. I ordered it in January, and at that time they told me I should get the car by the end of July. I picked it up on August 4. Just a data point on their ability to predict delivery dates. They were a few days late, but pretty good I'd say. Hang in there, the car is worth the wait!
We ordered ours in January, it was to get to Portland on the 8th. We live in Kansas City hope it is here soon. It's a salsa #9.
Thought I'd take a head count on how many Denverites are waiting for Prii.. from those who have posted before.. I know kingofgix, naterprius, and sally have gotten theirs... Chris and Nate, where are you in the hunt? How about you quiet ones? Who has ordered from where and what is your wait? Bob Andersen
I got mine last week! Sorry, been so busy modding it (details to follow) that I forgot to announce to all. Boulder Toyota, went with #9 Blue. Love it. BTW, my Longmont Toyota spot might still be open; I called to cancel, but haven't picked up my $500 yet... cnetter, you need it real bad? You could probably pick your pkg and color. 3 or 4 weeks out from now. Nate
Ooops I meant to ask, Dean, wacko999.. if he got his... we have found a couple of other Prii owners in the area... dinger... mark_hamrick, a Salsa (Flo)... Susan in COS is getting hers (GIZMO) a Salsa Red tomorrow... Laurie has a blue in Englewood Nate is a serious owner with a wish list of things he'd like to do and wants to know if anyone else wants to do mods with him... Come on Colorado... time to get excited Here is my mod wish list, in order that I just thought of them: -Factory EV button -Daytime Running Lights (override fog light switch) -Tire Pressure Monitoring System -Relocate both seats further back (I'm 6'4") -NAV speed sensor override (with timer to make it last) -Bluetooth speed sensor override (with timer) -Ipod input with controls -DVD input -Backup camera -Auto Door lock when over 15 mph -Auto Door lock when getting out with SE/SS -hitch for skis and stuff -Mudflaps (Genuine toyota) -Better Amplifier for Stereo -Extra sensors for SE/SS in rear door handles -Analog Speedo and Tach -Turn Signal Mirrors from Japan -Sunroof -Extra HSD batteries and charger at home -That automatic parking thing from Japan -1 PSI electric supercharger for moutain climbing Obviously some of these are more feasible than others. To complicate matters, I have my first child on the way in December! To be realistic, I'll probably just barely get the mudflaps on before she is born... I'm very, very good at doing interior work in Toyotas. After all, I did it for 6 years at a Toyota dealership, so I should be... however, I have the skill and the money, but barely any time. I figure if a bunch of us get together assembly line style, we can kick out a bunch of mods in a hurry... I'll be in touch. Nate
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(BobA\";p=\"41855)</div> I've moved down to #33 on the list at Stevenson. My sales guy tells me that the number that have been showing up from Toyota has definitely increased. Worst case, I expect to see mine in early December. But when I plot out my progress on the list I might actually get it in mid to late October. Chris
