So I got this on eBay to give it a try, where can I get more info on how to use it for the prius c, like what to look for?
Well, plug it in, fire it up, have some fun turning your lights, fans, and pumps on and off from your laptop, and when that gets boring, put it away and wait for a problem with the car; then you'll know you can pull up the diagnostic codes and freeze frame data to help track down the problem. -Chap
You'll need to place the CD into your computer and follow the directions provided to install the software package. After that, all you have to do is connect the OBD end to the car, the USB end to your computer, then start the software. Then just follow the prompts provided by the software.
I have been reading through the threads (I think it's called threads) and thanks for providing the photo of what Techstream, so I purchased this. A scanner is very expensive and to buy a scanner - they seem like a hit and miss accuracy, also the lists are not always recorded and/or provided when investigating capabilities etc.....there's so much information when it comes to Techstream and hopefully I can figure out how use this too.
Welcome to Prius Chat . Some questions: Do you have a J2534 protocol dongle already? What vehicle are you looking to use this for as that may affect the version you choose? How much are you looking to spend? I have an old laptop paired to a mini vci setup running Techstream version 10.30.029. I paid $20 for this on amazon (had the old laptop, so that was free). There can be challenges when installing the software on the laptop, but it can be done. Good luck and keep us posted .
Is there any option to find total distance traveled? In case of prius 4 gen you can see in data list. But I'm not sure about prius c. I'm using techstream 12.00.24 Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
No idea. I’d just run through the menus and see what you get. Why is this number of interest to you? Did someone mess with the odometer? Other damage to your c? Good luck and keep us posted .
check obd365. be sure to follow the instructions on how to install it. v13 or 14 should work for a 2010.
