Which gen 3 is the most rare (lowest production run)? My vote is the 2013 Prius Persona SE in black cherry pearl. The Persona was only made in 2013 and 2015 (what happened to 2014?) and only the 2013 was painted in black cherry pearl... no other Prius was ever painted in that color! Any other suggestions?
By model code (型式), I’m sure it’s one of the Welcab models (page in Japanese) that Toyota built with special mobility equipment for people with disabilities. I believe these were sold only in Japan; in other markets, such adaptive equipment is typically installed by third parties. The color called Black Cherry Pearl in the U.S. has code 3P2; it’s also called Bordeaux Mica in technical publications. The Frame List files included with Toyota’s Electronic Parts Catalog identify 3,001 third-generation (ZVW30 series) Prius cars built with this color, across all model years and destination countries. The least-popular color, with only 120 third-generation Prius cars built, was Blackish Red Mica (3R0). Other rare colors include True Blue Mica Metallic (8W1), with 272 cars, and Light Blue Mica Metallic (8U8), with 838 cars. These colors were probably available only by special arrangement.
their all wrong as early as 2009, you could get the package they called 'advanced' which had early / primitive features like parking assist ... a solar roof, AND moon roof !!! If that's not rare enough ... the least ordered color ... (i think it was called) sandy beach metalic - a sort of gold color. We ordered it that way in 2008. some lucky stiff in the Flathead valley in Montana is still running around the landscape w/ it. .
