I have a 2007 base model Gen2 without a backup camera. I also have a 2007 "project" Gen2 with a working camera system. The logical question would be, is the Base model pre-wired and MFD ready for the Transplant. Sure would be nice if it were as simple as removing the camera from the one and installing it in the other! Thoughts, knowledge and experience, anyone?? Thanks, Steve
Well there is good news. This 2007 Gen2 isn't as spartin as I thought a Base model would be. It does have a backup camera and that is good for me, since I have a hard time looking out the back of this cars. Now for the bad, it doesn't have Nav or Blue Tooth and I never thought I would want that until I saw that it didn't have it but one of my project cars (a 300k+ miles tired Yellow Cab) does have both. This will be another topic post, but I do remember some on PC have done this TransPlant. I now wonder how much trouble it will be. I know the Nav system ECU is under the center console. But my question, again, are all Gen2s fully wired for these options? And then do you have to "introduce" the Nav and Blue Tooth to the rest of the ECUs and MFD?? I'll go post these question in another post. Just wanted to close this post with the good news. Thanks Steve
Hi SteveWlf, I had changed camera setting in hidden menu, and now in the navigation screen show a message “system not ready” when shifting to reverse, would you do me a favor to provide any tip to clear the error?
